Class 1 Roof test

Testing was undertaken at Vinci Technology Centre to ensure safety critical performance criteria was met, in addition weather tightness and structural testing takes place. In line Technical Note 67 Impact Testing Overhead tests are carried out to simulate the effects of either a hard body (for example a tool) or soft body (a person) impacting on the atrium glazing. The soft body test is shown in the photograph – the test must last for 30 minutes. Tests are usually performed at elevated temperatures, typically 40ºC so as to test in extreme conditions.
