Black & White Building

The Black & White Building provides stylish, flexible workspaces from leading co-working provider The Office Group. It showcases timber in contemporary urban architecture, and is the tallest mass-timber commercial building in Central London, the first for over 400 years.

Our work:

A CPM project showcasing extensive use of timber across all aspects of design and construction, with the curtain wall façade as a particular highlight. Pacegrade recognised the need for a sustainable, high-quality timber with a refined finish to satisfy the brief.

After consultation with its dedicated specification team, Pacegrade selected PEFC-certified Holz Schiller European Spruce. This material not only met the project’s low-carbon requirements but also provided the necessary strength and finish set out in the design brief. Its application was both functional and aesthetic, to frame the structure’s floor-to-ceiling glazing while enhancing other architectural features and finishes.
